THE CORPORATION of the TOWNSHIP OF AUGUSTA NOTICE OF ADOPTION OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT 3 and ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT 3280-2017 TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Augusta adopted Official Plan Amendment No. 3 and zoning by-law amendment no 3280-2017 on January 9, 2017. AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or public body is entitled to receive Notice of the Decision for Official Plan Amendment no. 3 from the approval authority which is the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville if that person or public body requests to be notified by making that request in writing to: Clerk United Counties of Leeds and Grenville 25 Central Ave. W., Suite 100 Brockville, ON K6V 4N6 The written request to be notified of the decision shall include the person or public body’s name and address. AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or agency may appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board in respect of a by-law adopted under section 34 of the Planning Act by filing with the Clerk of the Corporation of the Township of Augusta, not later than the 9th day of February 2017, a notice of appeal, setting out the objection to the by-law, and the reasons in support of the objection, together with a check in the amount of $300.00 payable to the Minister of Finance of Ontario. PURPOSE AND EFFECT The amendment to the Official Plan and related amendment to the zoning by-law are required to meet the requirements of the Clean Water Act 2006 and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Official Plan and will introduce land use policies and zoning provisions which together will provide protection for municipal drinking water in source water intake areas. The area affected by the proposed amendments is shown in the key map below. TAKE NOTICE THAT Only individuals, corporations or public bodies may appeal a decision of the municipality to the Ontario Municipal Board. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf . TAKE NOTICE THAT No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the plan was adopted, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the opinion of the Ontario Municipal Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
